DuPont Ink Jet Banner Media with Tyvek®
Rugged and durable; resists tears, fading and water damage. DuPont Banner Media made with Tyvek® exhibits excellent whiteness, brightness, opacity and color fidelity.
Applications Guidelines
DuPont Banner Media made with Tyvek® is rugged, durable and resists tears, fading and water damage. It exhibits excellent whiteness, brightness, opacity and color fidelity. This product is recommended for both indoor and outdoor applications. It is compatible with most water-based pigment and dye ink systems.
Water Resistance & Surface Protection: In order to obtain a high degree of water resistance and outdoor durability, use only pigmented ink. Lamination is not required. Dye-based inks will yield good color gamut, but premature image fading will occur and bleeding may occur when the image gets wet.
To optimize print quality and results, printers should use the highest print quality or photographic quality setting. The media setting should be “Tyvek®” or a Heavy Coated Paper. Ink coverage should not exceed 300%. Disengage the use of “star wheels” when printing the media on HP printers. The use of pigment based inks is recommended for best overall performance.
For added durability, let the image dry over night before handling and 24 hours before exposing to moisture. Dry time depends on the amount of ink coverage. Dirt and stains cannot be cleaned from the imaged surface and the image can be damaged from excessive folding, kinking or creasing.
Finishing Recommendations
Banner Installation: Improper installation can cause premature banner failure.
Folding over corners will increase the durability of banners and reduce corner tearing.
Use high-tack double-sided banner tape like the 3M series 340 High Strength.
Grommets or adhesive grommet tabs should always be placed through two layers of Tyvek®.

Make two opposing edge folds at least one inch, secure hem with double-sided tape, burnish down with a squeegee to permanently secure.
For shipping and storage, roll finished banner parallel to hem.
